Privacy Policy

Draft wording, waiting on a lawyer's review.
This policy is about Mocra Pty Ltd, ABN 87 610 477 775, Brisbane QLD ("Mocra", "we"). It says what personal information we collect, why, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
What we collect, and why
When you visit a site we run. We record the page you opened, the site you came from, the campaign or source named in the link, and what your browser says it is. A cookie lets us tell a returning browser from a new one, and it lasts a year. Another cookie keeps your visit together. We use this to see which pages and campaigns work. Our web server's logs also record your IP address, as most do. We don't use advertising trackers.
When you email us. We keep your email and what you tell us about a trade, so we can reply and set up a call.
When you make a booking on a business's site. Mocra runs sites for small businesses. If you book on one, we collect your name, your mobile number and your answers to its questions, and we pass them to that business. We message you about that booking by WhatsApp or text. The business is responsible for how it uses your details once it has them.
When you use the follow-up chat. After a booking, an AI may ask you more questions on the page your text links to. We keep what you type, encrypted. If it looks secret, such as a gate code, we hide it on the page. On a demo site, the AI plays the business's owner, and the page says so.
When you have an account with us. We keep your name, your email and a scrambled copy of your password, so you can sign in.
When we contact your business. We may contact businesses that we think could use one of our apps. We collect the business's name and the contact details it has published, such as on its website or Google listing, and we keep a note of where we found each one. We tell you where we found your details in our first message, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
Demo sites
Some sites we run are demos, and they say so at the top of the page. A booking on a demo site doesn't go to any business, and we delete it after 7 days.
A demo site's list of bookings is public, so anyone can see it without signing in. It shows your first name, what you booked, the place and day you picked, your answers to its multiple-choice questions, and whether you've confirmed. Your mobile number and email are partly hidden, so only a few characters show. Please don't use a demo site if you don't want to be shown this way.
If you ask us to stop texting you from a demo site, we keep your number and that request after the 7 days, so we don't text you again.
Who else sees it
We don't sell personal information. We share it only with the business you booked with, with the companies below that help us run our service, and when the law requires it. The exception is a demo site's public list, described above.
- Hosting: our server is with Akamai (Linode) in Sydney, and is managed through Hatchbox.
- Email: Google Workspace and Mailgun.
- Messages: Meta, for WhatsApp, and a text message provider.
- AI: Anthropic, whose Claude asks the follow-up questions after a booking, so it reads the booking and what you type in the chat.
- Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and rsms.me, so those services see your IP address.
- Finding businesses: Outscraper, which gives us public business listings.
Some of these companies store or handle information outside Australia, including in the United States.
How long we keep it, and how we protect it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the reasons above, or as the law requires. Access to it is limited, it's sent over encrypted connections, and booking answers and chat messages are stored encrypted.
Marketing messages
Each marketing message we send says who it's from and how to stop them. Reply STOP to a text, or use the unsubscribe link in an email. We act on it within 5 working days.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
Email drnic@mocra.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We'll reply within 30 days. There's no charge.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your information, email drnic@mocra.com and we'll look into it and reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with our reply, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes
When we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
